The Hannover version is identical in size and medium to the original Tp 1 which was damaged beyond repair in 1941. It had been purchased from the artist by Solomon Guggenheim in 1936 and was dedicated to Hilla Rebay. However, according to Angelica Rudenstine, there are some slight differences in the composition with respect to the incised lines. The original 1930 piece no longer exists.
